The McKesson Active mattress replacement system is designed to provide alternating pressure and low air loss technology, optimizing pressure redistribution, shear/friction reduction, and microclimate control. It is intended to help prevent, treat, and heal pressure ulcers in the home or long term care setting. The control unit allows for use in static mode or 10-minute cycles when alternating. Adjustable patient weight settings enable optimal immersion, patient comfort, and compliance. The system includes audio and visual alarm alerts for low air pressure.
The mattress system features 20 individual air cells with a pillow feature to maximize immersion, envelopment for head stability, comfort, and pressure relief. The 8-inch air cells are removable and easily replaceable with air leakage plugs. The quilted, nylon stretch cover with a zippered design secures the cover to the mattress base, making it easy to remove for hygiene maintenance and protecting the skin from friction and moisture. The system has a weight bearing capacity of 350 lbs (159 kg) and measures 80 inches (W) x 36 inches (L). A CPR valve allows for rapid deflation, and tubing quickly disconnects with an EZ lock, quick-release design.
Tested and certified to meet UL 1431, EN 60601-1, EN 60601-1-2 standards, it is also latex free. Each system comes with all required components including the alternating pressure mattress, nylon cover sheet, variable pressure pump, and an instruction manual.
